Troopers say a Sodus resident was arrested on DWI charges after a one-vehicle crash around 9:30 p.m.
The crash happened on South Geneva Road in Sodus, according to Troopers, who say that when they arrived on-scene – a utility pole was sheared in half, and power was cut to the area.
Power was off for several hours as result.
Investigation determined that Doyle Denosky, 68, who served as Wayne County Undersheriff before retiring – was the operator of the vehicle.
He was found to have a BAC of 0.19 percent. He was charged with driving while intoxicated and aggravated driving while intoxicated.
He was released on appearance tickets and will answer the charges at a later date.
