The two people escaped injury, but were displaced from their home after a structure fire in Cayuga County on Wednesday.
First responders said the fire was reported at 3787 Carter Road; and was reported to be fully-involved when they arrived.
The Citizen reports that the fire was called in to 911 around 4:20 p.m.
Ira Volunteer Fire Department Chief Dan Baldwin told The Citizen that residents evacuated with no injuries. He noted that winds added to the flames, increasing the need for additional water to put out the fire.
Firefighters and first responders from Ira, Cato, Victory, Lysander, Oswego Town, Hannibal, Granby Center, Fair Haven, Plainville, Red Creek, and Conquest assisted at the scene. CIMVAC Ambulance, New York State Police, and the Cayuga County Emergency Management Office also assisted.
Around 5:40 p.m. the fire was reported out.
