As a new school year begins, Christopher Brown looks at a big opportunity to lead the Marcus Whitman Central School District.
He sees himself as one of the individuals who can have a big impact on students lives. And he brings an important mix of experience – at both small and large districts.
“Of all the people who can make a change, it’s me,” he told The Chronicle-Express. He stressed the importance of making connections with students, staff and the community at large. “The kids know what they need. Say it. Ask a question,” he added in a conversation with the Express.
Brown was most-recently employed by the West Genesee district in the Syracuse-area; and had previously worked in the Hammondsport district.
He succeeds Jeramy Clingerman, who took the superintendent job in the Seneca Falls Central School District.
