An inmate at the Wayne County Office of the Sheriff’s Jail is facing additional charges after being caught with illegal items in the jailhouse.
According to corrections officers, Corey Vitaro, 42, is facing multiple counts of promoting prison contraband after being caught with illegal items inside of balloons.
Officers found a zip-lock bag containing several balloons on July 10. Jail cameras showed the bag and balloons falling out of Vitaro’s pant leg.
The balloons contained tobacco, marijuana, matches and strike pads, rolling papers, and the drug Suboxone.
Vitaro is also being charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance.
