UPDATE: Marion driver airlifted from serious crash overnight

Deputies have provided new information following the one-car crash along Jagger Road in the Town of Marion during the overnight hours.

Shawn M. Gere, 52, of Marion was traveling north on Jagger Road when his vehicle left the roadway, and went off the west shoulder of the road.

He collided with a utility pole and several trees. The Marion Fire Department responded to the scene and pulled Gere from the vehicle.

Deputies say Gere was airlifted from the scene to Strong Memorial Hospital.

The case remains under investigation, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
