Third Thursday Summer Music Series makes return to Anthony Road Wine Company

After a successful summer season in 2018, Anthony Road Wine Company’s “Third Thursday Summer Music Series” is coming back this June.

Liz Castner, who manages Anthony Road Wine Company’s tasting room expressed her excitement for the return of this summer staple. “I’m looking forward to this year’s Summer Music Series because I love celebrating summer nights. It reminds me of being ten years old again, summer nights were the best,” she said this week. “I love listening to the original music and being around all the talent! It’s casual fun with the family, and my kids enjoy it, plus no dishes to do.”

Four years ago, Liz’s husband, Sam Castner, and friend, singer songwriter Jo-Hannah Reynolds, worked together to plan and execute the first Third Thursday concert series at Anthony Road. Over the past few years the music and food trucks have diversified, but the spirit of live music performance for all ages carries on.

Winemaker Peter Becraft shared his own excitement for the start of this year’s season. “I’m really looking forward to gathering with friends, family, and neighbors outside in the warm weather,” he added. “I’m particularly excited about the August Third Thursday, because it will be my sort of unofficial kickoff for the Woodstock Festival in Watkins Glen that weekend.”

The Third Thursday Summer Music Series takes place at Anthony Road Wine Company from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on the third Thursday of each month beginning in June. The series wraps up in August.

The event is free and lawn chairs and blankets are welcomed. Wine is available by the glass and bottle; and non-alcoholic beverages are also available.

This year’s lineup includes:

June 20: Music by Myer & McGuire with local fare from the Buffalonian

July 18: Music by Michael George Gonzalez with local fare from Over The Moon

August 15: Music by Cool Club & Lipker Sisters with local fare from El Morro
