State police reported two men were taken to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse after their vehicles collided on Route 34B in the area of Dublin Hill Road. Cayuga County dispatchers said the call to 911 for the personal injury crash came in around 5:30 a.m.
When state troopers arrived at the scene around 6 a.m. they observed both cars with significant front end damage at rest in the northbound lane of Route 34B, according to the accident report provided by state police.
Elmer Fethers, 61, of Lansing, told police he was traveling north in a Toyota Tacoma when he saw a southbound vehicle enter his lane. Traveling south was Thomas Jillson, 54, of Auburn, who told police his view was obstructed by blowing snow, and while he couldn't tell if he was in his lane of travel or not, he remembered seeing another set of headlights before the crash.
