Gov. Cuomo names new chief of staff

Gov. Andrew Cuomo has named Jill DesRosiers the administration’s chief of staff, his office said Tuesday in a statement.

The chief of staff role is separate from the job of top aide to the governor, the position of secretary, held by Melissa DeRosa.

DesRosiers has previously served as the governor’s executive deputy secretary, overseeing the office of Intergovernmental Affairs, scheduling and operations as well as regional and constituency affairs.

She previously served as executive deputy secretary for Executive Operations and as Director of Scheduling

DesRosiers has also worked in senior posts at the New York City Council under Speakers Gifford Miller and Christine Quinn.
