Montezuma Audubon Center partners with Fleur de Lis Brew Works on ‘Birds Binocs & Beers’

The Montezuma Audubon Center is teaming up with Fleur de Lis Brew Works for an exciting and delicious event on Saturday, January 12 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The day will start at Fleur de Lis Brew Works located at 3630 NY-414, Seneca Falls, NY 13148 where guests will meet with the Montezuma Audubon Center staff for a guided snowshoe hike through a portion of the brewery’s forest and meadow for bird watching and mammal tracking activities. Then, participants will sample award-winning craft beers, local cheeses and hors d’oeuvres inside the warm, friendly confines of the brewery.

Following the tastings, KrittrKris will lead an entertaining bird of prey program where guests will see several birds up close, learn about our native owls, hawks and vultures, and the importance of wildlife conservation and management. The event will proceed with or without snow. Space is limited and pre-paid registration is required by calling 315-365-3588 or emailing [email protected]. Fee with snowshoe rental: $30/adult; fee without snowshoe rental: $25/adult.

“The Montezuma Audubon Center is proud to partner with Fleur de Lis Brew Works to highlight the Montezuma Wetlands Complex and Seneca County as critically important habitats for birds and other wildlife during the winter months,” said Montezuma Audubon Center Director Chris Lajewski. “Birds Binocs & Beers participants will experience the songbirds, waterfowl, and birds of prey of our region and read the stories that mammals have left for us in this winter wonderland.”
