A pickup truck was destroyed by fire Friday afternoon near the Odessa-Montour school campus, but all four people inside escaped without injury.
The vehicle had just pulled out of the Odessa-Montour school parking lot when it stalled on College Avenue, according to reports from the scene. After the driver pulled over and shut off the engine, flames erupted from the truck.
One witness reported the fire rose several feet above the vehicle as the driver and three passengers safely exited. Emergency crews responded quickly and found all occupants out of the truck when they arrived.
Firefighters extinguished the blaze before it could spread to nearby property. No injuries were reported among the vehicle’s occupants or responding personnel.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
