Firefighters from multiple departments responded to a tractor fire in Victor on Monday morning that quickly spread into a brush fire, burning several acres before crews brought it under control.
The Victor Fire Department said crews were dispatched around 10 a.m. for a reported tractor fire. When firefighters arrived, they found the tractor fully involved approximately 1,300 feet off the roadway, along with about three acres of grass burning nearby.
Because of the location and spread of the fire, mutual aid was requested from Bushnell’s Basin Fire Department, Farmington Volunteer Fire Association, East Bloomfield Holcomb Fire Department, and Egypt Fire Department.
Crews used UTVs and brush trucks to access the remote area and extinguish the fire. Officials said a water fill site was established along the roadway to support suppression efforts.
No injuries were reported.
