A medical emergency caused a vehicle to veer off Paddy Lane in the Town of Ontario on Thursday afternoon, striking a house and leaving the driver hospitalized, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies say Rhonda J. Waeghe, 60, of Marion, was driving eastbound on Paddy Lane when she suffered a medical episode. Her vehicle left the roadway, struck a speed limit sign, and collided with a house before coming to a stop. Upon arrival, deputies found Waeghe unconscious but breathing.
Waeghe’s passenger, Gina L. Bukolt, 63, of Lyons, was uninjured in the crash. Waeghe was transported by Ontario Ambulance to Rochester General Hospital for treatment.
The crash prompted a response from Ontario Fire, Ontario Ambulance, Western Wayne Ambulance, and PJ Radiator Towing. No further updates on Waeghe’s condition have been provided.
