Judge had a moderate-grade strain of the soleus muscle in his right calf. He also will have a follow-up visit with Dr. Gregory Pearl to evaluate the healing of his first right rib, which he fractured early in the season, according to the report.

The report lists his expected return as 2027 and says he is expected to be ready for spring training. It does not give a date for his follow-up examination.

Schmidt's throwing shutdown followed September discomfort

Schmidt was shut down from throwing as of Sept. 24 because of right biceps neuritis. He felt discomfort while warming up Sept. 20 at Arizona and was inactive for the postseason.

His updated outlook also calls for a return in 2027, with readiness expected for spring training.

The injury page includes several other pitchers whose status entries were last updated earlier in the fall. Those entries list expected returns in 2027, with different treatment and recovery circumstances.

Cruz and Castro entered offseason hoping to avoid surgery

Right-hander Fernando Cruz has a partially torn right ulnar collateral ligament. He went on the injured list Aug. 26 and was transferred to the 60-day list Sept. 25.

According to the Sept. 29 status entry, Dr. Keith Meister examined Cruz in September and recommended conservative, nonsurgical treatment. Cruz entered the offseason hoping to avoid surgery.

Kervin Castro also entered the offseason hoping to avoid surgery after right elbow neuritis. He went on the injured list Aug. 11, retroactive to Aug. 10, following his Aug. 9 appearance. He was transferred to the 60-day list Aug. 26.

Castro explored surgery in consultation with Meister in late August, according to his Sept. 29 update.

Right-hander Angel Chivilli resumed throwing in late August after a bone spur in his right elbow. His status entry, last updated Oct. 7, lists his expected return as 2027.

November roster moves include qualifying offer to Bednar

The Yankees activated Castro and Cruz from the 60-day injured list Nov. 2. The transaction listing also records a qualifying offer to right-hander David Bednar and the selection of shortstop Marco Luciano's contract from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre that day.

The Oct. 29 free-agent transactions include Bednar, Paul Blackburn, Jazz Chisholm Jr., Michael Fulmer, Paul Goldschmidt, Trent Grisham, Tim Hill, Amed Rosario, John Schreiber and Ryan Yarbrough.
