A Nov. 19 talk at Muller Field Station in Canadice will cover invasive species in the Finger Lakes region, including their ecological effects and ways to manage them, according to a news release from Finger Lakes Community College.
The college will host the program from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 19, at the field station, 6455 County Road 36.
The “Talk on the Wild Side” program, “Invasive Invasion with Finger Lakes PRISM,” will feature Laurel Williams, invasive species education and outreach program manager for the Finger Lakes Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management.
Williams will also discuss opportunities for citizen science and community participation. She oversees watercraft steward initiatives and coordinates volunteer events in the region.
Muller Field Station works to manage invasive species on its 48-acre property at the south end of Honeoye Lake.
The program is open to all ages. Registration is required because space is limited. A registration link is available through FLCC’s events calendar.
