At age 65, Bill passed away on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Bill was born on September 5, 1961, in Rochester, NY, to the late William and Virginia (Propson) Watson Sr.
Survived by his life partner of 23 years, Tracey Farley, his children, John Watson, Maggie (Mike) Knapp, and Ryan Watson, his grandchildren, Erin Knapp, Emilee Knapp, Mason Watson, and Savannah Watson, his sister, Ginny Lane, his aunt, Joan Propson, his mother-in-law, Jackie Kesley, his father-in-law, Howard (Lori) Farley, his sisters-in-law, Stacey Farley, and Shannon (Joseph) Breu, his brothers-in-law, Jason (Richelle) Farley, and Travis (Heidi) Farley, along with several nieces, nephews, and many dear friends.
Bill proudly served in the Army National Guard and went on to work as a truck and trailer mechanic, a trade that reflected his practical skills and dedication. His commitment to serving others extended beyond his work and military service: he was also the Assistant Chief of the Lakeville Volunteer Fire Department, where he gave generously of his time and leadership to help protect his community.
Friends and family are invited to call from 4 PM to 6 PM on Friday, October 23, 2026, at the Kevin W. Dougherty Funeral Home, 21 Big Tree Street in Livonia, where Bill’s memorial service will take place immediately following calling hours at 6 PM. Interment will take place privately at Union Cemetery in Livonia.
