UDN General Construction’s annual charity golf tournament in Penfield raised a record $37,500 for Pluta Cancer Foundation.
The donation brings the tournament’s total giving to the foundation to $174,500, according to a news release from UDN. Company principals Nick Charvella and Nick Testa presented the check on Oct. 27.
The contribution surpassed the tournament’s previous record by more than $10,000. The event raised $27,000 in 2025.
The foundation is a nonprofit that supports patients of Pluta Cancer Center in Henrietta and their families by helping provide access to cancer care and easing treatment-related financial burdens.
“The team’s generosity, heart, and leadership make them a true partner in our support of patients and families when they need it most,” said Dawn Stever, the foundation’s president and CEO.
September tournament drew more than 120 golfers
The ninth annual tournament took place in September at Penfield Country Club. More than 120 golfers registered, and 64 sponsors and donors supported the event.
Supporters included Rochester-area businesses, regional companies and nationally recognized brands, according to UDN. Charvella said community participation and local sponsorship have grown over the past nine years.
Charvella and Testa founded the tournament in 2017 to support Pluta’s mission.
“The way the community comes together for an organization that’s had such a strong impact in Rochester and has made such a positive difference in my personal life, for my family, is a special thing,” Charvella said.
UDN General Construction was founded in 2012. The company provides commercial construction services throughout the Greater Rochester area, guiding clients through all phases of the construction process.
