Seneca County health officials are warning residents to stop using certain combination smoke and carbon monoxide alarms that may fail to detect a fire. The county Health Department shared a federal safety warning covering model JZA-540COM alarms sold under the JuzhiAnn, Yfwsrecinoe and JAEHSKA names.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission's Oct. 29 warning covers about 51,825 alarms sold on Amazon and eBay from November 2023 through October 2026. The agency received seven reports of alarms failing to alert consumers to smoke or fire.

Consumers should stop using the alarms, dispose of them and install working replacements, the commission said. They should not sell or give the alarms to anyone else.

This is a safety warning rather than an agreed recall. The commission said the China-based seller, Shenzhen Laijinhe Trading Co. Ltd., doing business as Yfwsrecinoe US, has not responded to its request for a recall.
