Syracuse Crunch fans can bring canned goods and other nonperishable food to the team's Nov. 13 home game to support a Thanksgiving meal giveaway for Syracuse families.
Collection bins will be placed at every arena entrance when the Crunch host the Toronto Marlies at 7 p.m., according to the team's announcement.
The donations will go to the annual Turkey Dinner Giveaway organized by the ED23 Foundation, Empire Orange Publishing and the Hart and Tay Train Foundation.
The giveaway is scheduled for noon to 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, at the Boys & Girls Club in Center Village, 212 Van Buren St., Syracuse.
Organizers plan to provide turkeys for more than 500 underserved Syracuse families.
The ED23 Foundation is led by former Syracuse University basketball player Eric Devendorf and combines sports training, leadership education and youth community programs.
Tickets for the Friday, Nov. 13, game are available at the Crunch office at the arena, 800 S. State St., Syracuse, by calling 315-473-4444 or through Ticketmaster.
