Daniel Henner will not become Auburn’s assistant superintendent for business, and the district has reopened its search, according to The Citizen.
The school board approved Henner’s appointment by a 5-4 vote Oct. 27 after a parent raised concerns about his record as Liverpool’s superintendent.
Superintendent Misty Slavic declined to say whether Henner withdrew or the district rescinded its offer, citing its policy on personnel matters.
Henner had been scheduled to replace business executive Tessa Crawford for a one-year term beginning Dec. 7 at a prorated salary of $145,000.
The reposted position will be filled through applicant screening, interviews and background checks before a recommendation goes to the school board.
