Cornell alumni and fans have two New York City traditions on the calendar this month: the Sy Katz '31 Parade on Nov. 21 and the Frozen Apple hockey game at Madison Square Garden on Nov. 28, according to a Cornell preview.
The men's hockey team will face Maine at noon in the seventh Frozen Apple. It will be the event's first afternoon start, allowing the New York Rangers to play at the arena that night.
Cornell launched the Frozen Apple in 2012 and holds it in even-numbered years. The Big Red's Red Hot Hockey series against Boston University takes place in odd-numbered years.
The parade is scheduled for 5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 21, after Cornell's football game against Columbia. The tradition began in 1972 and is held every other year.
A concert is expected around 6 p.m. at the Cornell Club on East 44th Street near Fifth Avenue.
