NY Democrats report 40 field offices, outreach to 1.4 million voters

New York Democrats have opened 40 field offices and contacted more than 1.4 million voters through door-knocking and phone calls, state party Chair Jay Jacobs said Saturday.

In an Empire Report opinion column, Jacobs credited Gov. Kathy Hochul with supporting a coordinated campaign operating in all 62 counties.

Jacobs said thousands of volunteers are working toward a goal of doubling voter contact compared with 2024, when Democrats flipped four House seats, according to his account.

He highlighted Blake Gendebien's North Country House campaign, saying Republicans won that seat by more than 24 points two years ago.

Jacobs cites higher early participation

Jacobs reported early-voting turnout up 88% statewide through four days compared with 2022, including a 97% increase outside New York City.

For the first three days, he cited increases in all 62 counties and more than 75% in New York City. He said Long Island's opening-weekend turnout nearly doubled, with more Democrats participating than Republicans.

Jacobs attributed those gains to the coordinated campaign. Participation counts do not reveal voters' ballot choices or establish which candidate is leading.

Early voting ends Sunday

The state Board of Elections lists Sunday, Nov. 1, as the final day of early voting for the 2026 general election. Local county boards set hours.

Residents can check their assigned early-voting location through the state's voter lookup tool.
