A Buffalo man has been sentenced to 10 years in federal prison for fentanyl trafficking and illegally possessing a firearm. Dominic Daniels, 39, committed the offenses while on supervised release from an earlier federal drug conviction, prosecutors said.
Chief U.S. District Judge Elizabeth Wolford imposed the 120-month sentence following Daniels' convictions for possessing at least 40 grams of fentanyl with intent to distribute and being a felon in possession of a firearm, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office.
Investigators searched Daniels' Buffalo residence and vehicle on June 25, 2025. They seized about 130 grams of fentanyl, 38 grams of crack cocaine, a loaded pistol, approximately $36,494 in cash and assorted jewelry.
Daniels previously received a 60-month federal sentence in October 2018 for a cocaine conspiracy involving at least 500 grams. He was serving the supervised-release portion of that sentence when the new offenses occurred.
The FBI and Erie County Sheriff's Office investigated the case.
