Bass Pro Shops will open its new Victor store Nov. 12 with live music, outdoor celebrity appearances and a conservation fundraiser at Eastview Mall.
The 90,000-square-foot Outdoor World at 700 Eastview Mall Drive will be the company's fifth New York location, Bass Pro Shops announced Thursday. A public celebration begins at 5 p.m., followed by a 6 p.m. ribbon-cutting and the store opening.
The company said 15% of sales on most items during its Evening for Conservation will go to local conservation organizations. The announcement did not identify individual recipients or list the excluded merchandise.
Opening-night events
Singer-songwriter Blaine Holcomb will perform at 5 p.m. Santa is scheduled to arrive at 5:30 p.m.
The company announced appearances by anglers Jimmy Houston, Kevin VanDam, Bob Izumi, George Poveromo, Chris Johnston and Cory Johnston, as well as outdoor television host Fred Eichler. PAW Patrol characters and angler Charlie Evans are also part of the celebration.
Following the opening ceremony, special guests will be available for meet-and-greets and autographs until 8 p.m., according to the release.
The opening comes ahead of New York's Southern Zone regular firearms deer season. The company is promoting the Victor location as a destination for customers across the Finger Lakes and greater Rochester region.
Weekend activities and store hours
Opening-weekend events run through Nov. 15. The first 200 families through the doors each day Friday through Sunday will receive door prizes, the company said.
Beginning Friday, Nov. 13, families can schedule Santa's Wonderland visits and receive a free 4-by-6-inch photo. Bass Pro Shops and Cabela's CLUB members will receive 10% off most in-store merchandise Nov. 12-15, subject to the promotion's exclusions.
The store includes a 10,000-gallon aquarium and a 1,000-gallon stream containing more than 100 fish from 13 species, according to Bass Pro Shops.
It will carry boats from brands including Tracker, Sun Tracker, Ranger, Mako, Nitro, Regency and Tahoe. An on-site Power Pros service center will service boats, motors and ATVs and utility vehicles, and offer parts and accessories.
Regular hours begin Nov. 13: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday. The company directs visitors to basspro.com/victor for event updates.
