Five Midlakes Middle School band students performed with the Hochstein Junior Wind Symphony in Rochester on Oct. 24, according to the school district.
The ensemble’s concert, directed by John Rolland, brought together seventh- and eighth-grade instrumentalists from the Greater Rochester area.
The Midlakes musicians were Ellen Lincoln on clarinet, Elijah Payne on trumpet, Shelby Cummings on euphonium, and Sammy Bishop and James Stratton on tuba.
Hochstein’s wind symphony program provides an intensive, short-session ensemble experience. Students are expected to arrive at their first rehearsal already familiar with their music.
The program is supported in part by the Louise Alfreda Hill Memorial Fund and made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts.
