Troopers responded Oct. 10 to the reported burglary at a residence on King Road in the town of Manchester, Ontario County.

Investigators obtained surveillance footage showing a vehicle in the area around the time of the burglary, which helped them identify a suspect, police said.

Benjamin contacted state police Tuesday and voluntarily went to the Canandaigua barracks, returning the safe and about $1,200 in cash, according to the release.

He was taken to the Ontario County Jail for centralized arraignment.
