A Lyons man was charged with obstructing governmental administration after deputies said he interfered with a traffic stop on Jackson Street in Lyons.
Jason Samuels, 45, was charged with second-degree obstructing governmental administration, according to an Oct. 24 news release from the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said Samuels was not involved in the traffic stop but placed himself between law enforcement officers and the vehicle they had stopped.
The Sheriff’s Office said Samuels disregarded orders to keep a safe distance and continued interfering with the investigation despite repeated warnings.
Samuels was processed at the Sheriff’s Office and issued an appearance ticket to answer the charge in Lyons Town Court at a later date.
