Deputies were notified around 7:55 a.m. Oct. 22 about the incident at the school, located at 2825 East Brutus Street Road in Weedsport.

During the investigation, deputies discovered the student also had two kitchen knives and a kitchen meat tenderizer, according to the sheriff's office.

School officials put a precautionary hold in place while staff and the school resource officer assessed the situation. The hold ended after they determined there was no ongoing threat, as additional deputies and detectives arrived to investigate.
