Yates County dispatchers handled 6,413 law enforcement calls from July through September 2026, while sheriff's deputies made 1,414 traffic stops and recorded 54 arrests.
The sheriff's quarterly statistics report also details jail operations, crash responses, animal control, public-records work and civil court services during the three-month period.
Dispatch, patrol and crashes
Along with law enforcement calls, dispatch handled 531 fire calls and 972 emergency medical services calls during the quarter.
Deputies recorded 4,821 contacts and issued 498 vehicle and traffic tickets. The arrest figures included 12 driving while intoxicated arrests.
The drug possession, sale or overdose count was five.
Crash figures included 80 car-versus-deer calls, 41 personal-injury motor vehicle accidents and 44 property-damage motor vehicle accidents. No fatal motor vehicle accidents were recorded for the quarter.
Jail population and services
The jail's average daily population was 36. Admissions included 24 men and nine women during July, August and September.
Corrections operations also recorded 34 arraignments and 9,879 meals served. The combined medical exams and case management category totaled 179.
Animal control, records and civil work
Animal control investigated 149 complaints and handled 16 animal-bite cases. The division recorded 8,070 miles driven during the reporting period.
The records section listed 75 sex offenders in the county and 19 new pistol permit applications. It also reported completing 791 Freedom of Information Law requests.
The Civil Division recorded nine evictions and processed 68 Family Court summonses. Its total number of legal papers served was 169.
