An Endicott man was charged with assaulting a police officer during an Oct. 10 disturbance on Saltonstall Street in Canandaigua.
Police said Shawn Bryant, 18, and another person were yelling obscenities at a group and trying to fight them when officers arrived.
As officers tried to arrest the other person, Bryant interfered and fought them, injuring one officer, the department said.
Bryant was charged with assault on a police officer and resisting arrest, according to the Canandaigua Police Department's Oct. 20 blotter.
Police also charged him with endangering the welfare of a child, saying a child was present during the arrest.
Bryant was taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
