Registration is open for Cornell University’s online Winter Session, with classes running Jan. 4-22, 2027, and a Dec. 1 registration deadline for visiting students.
The short session lets students earn credits, fulfill a requirement or study a new subject before the spring semester, according to the Cornell Chronicle announcement. Cornell and visiting students can choose from courses in business, science, the humanities and other fields.
Courses span business, science and the arts
The online roster includes accounting, biology, design, economics, entomology, film, history, plant science, psychology and statistics, among other subjects. Cornell highlighted classes in business management, financial accounting, prisons, honey bees and plant science as popular options.
New or notable offerings include Photography through a Scientific Lens, Branding and Brand Management, Narrative and Healing, Sustainable Animal Husbandry, and Argumentation and Debate. The Winter Session class roster has the full list and course details.
Cornell says the session welcomes undergraduate and graduate students, including international and visiting students. Faculty, staff, retirees, alumni, parents, area residents and working professionals may also enroll.
Visiting students face Dec. 1 deadline
Visiting students must register by Dec. 1, 2026. That date is also the financial aid priority deadline for Cornell students. Cornell says financial aid is not available to visiting students for Winter Session.
Cornell students have until Jan. 4, 2027, to request access for Winter Session enrollment. All students must add a class or change credit hours by 11:59 p.m. Eastern on Jan. 5.
Final exams may be held Jan. 23, depending on the course.
