Newark residents who decorate the outside of their homes for Halloween can enter the village’s display contest beginning Oct. 21. Registration closes at noon Oct. 28.
The Village of Newark announced the contest in a release and an accompanying flyer sent to FingerLakes1.com. Residents can register after completing their displays by calling 315-331-4770, ext. 106, between Oct. 21 and Oct. 28.
Contest judges will photograph registered displays. The village said a resident can win a trick-or-treat basket of holiday treats, but the announcement did not specify judging criteria, the number of winners or when a winner will be named.
The contest is for outdoor decorations at Newark homes. The village encouraged residents to be creative and make their displays visible to others.
Newark held a Halloween display contest last year. This year’s Oct. 21-28 registration window is different from the dates published for the 2025 contest.
