Regional businesses will have a chance to meet semiconductor industry and workforce partners Thursday, Oct. 8, at a Rochester event focused on supply chain opportunities.
Greater Rochester Chamber of Commerce and partners in the NY SMART I-Corridor Tech Hub are hosting the Rochester TRENDS Opportunity Exchange from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Paychex Auditorium in The Strong National Museum of Play, 1 Manhattan Square. The event will include industry updates and resource exchange sessions throughout the morning, according to an Oct. 7 media advisory from the chamber.
The advisory says participating businesses can meet organizations offering funding, technical assistance, workforce resources, supplier connections and commercialization support. It did not provide registration details for businesses.
Scheduled speakers include Greater Rochester Chamber President and CEO Robert Duffy, OneROC President and CEO Joseph Stefko, Micron external affairs manager Joe Nehme and Luminate Chief Investment Officer Sujatha Ramanujan. Representatives from Edwards Vacuum, the Monroe County APEX Accelerator, Greater Rochester Enterprise, NextCorps and Monroe Community College are also listed among the speakers.
The Tech Hub said it has delivered more than $2.5 million in direct business and training resources since July 2024. The coalition also said it has supported $260 million in public and private investment and contributed to the creation of 175 jobs during that period. Those figures were supplied in the advisory and were not independently verified.
The NY SMART I-Corridor coalition includes more than 100 businesses, colleges, economic development groups and community organizations across Upstate New York. It is convened by the Buffalo Niagara Partnership, CenterState CEO and OneROC.
