Lake House plans holiday market and tree lighting in Canandaigua

The Lake House on Canandaigua will hold a two-night holiday market and a tree-lighting ceremony in early December, part of a seasonal schedule that also includes Thanksgiving dining and three Breakfast with Santa dates.

The resort's Holiday Market is scheduled for Dec. 3 and 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. in its Event Barn, with local makers and seasonal treats. The Dec. 4 tree lighting, also listed for 6 to 9 p.m., will include carolers, live reindeer and visits from Mr. and Mrs. Claus, according to the resort.

Dining and family events

The holiday program begins Nov. 26 with a Thanksgiving buffet and a prix fixe dinner at Rose Tavern. The buffet has three seating windows: noon to 1:30 p.m., 3 to 4:30 p.m. and 6 to 7:30 p.m. The resort said the Rose Tavern menu will include slow-roasted turkey with orange-cranberry and sage gravy, among other dishes.

A Holiday Mahjong Tournament is scheduled for Dec. 2 in the Event Barn. The resort lists tickets at $125 per person, including three rounds of play and light bites, with an overnight stay offered as a prize.

Breakfast with Santa is set for Dec. 6, 13 and 20. Each Sunday has two seatings, from 10 to 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 to 2 p.m. The resort also plans daily surprises for overnight guests during the 12 days leading up to Christmas.

General Manager Alex Schnoeller said the events are intended for both returning families and the local community, whether they visit for a meal, the tree lighting or a winter weekend.

Winter stays and New Year's Eve

The resort is promoting a separate winter lodging offer through March 31, 2027, with discounts of up to 15% on standard rooms and 20% on suites, two complimentary cocktails and a $20 nightly resort fee. Its four-season Postcards from The Lake House gift package offers curated two-night visits tied to each season; the complete package starts at $5,500.

Rose Tavern plans a multicourse New Year's Eve dinner featuring scallops, lobster, Wagyu beef and a matcha-and-black-sesame dessert, the resort said. Prices and seating times for that dinner were not included in the release.

The Lake House is at 770 S. Main St. in Canandaigua. Event details and reservation links are available on the resort's holiday page.
