Keuka College student dies after emergency response at Davis Hall

A Keuka College student died Tuesday night after emergency crews responded to a report of a woman having difficulty breathing in Davis Hall, according to the Yates County Sheriff's Office.

At about 9:55 p.m. Tuesday, sheriff's deputies and Yates County Ambulance personnel responded to the residence hall.

Members of the Branchport/Keuka Park Fire Department also responded.

Deputies arrived to find emergency medical personnel performing CPR and other lifesaving measures, the Sheriff's Office said.

The student was pronounced dead at the scene.

Authorities have not released her name out of respect for her family.

In a message to its campus community, Keuka College confirmed that a student had died in Davis Hall and said the Sheriff's Office and Yates County coroner were investigating.

The Sheriff's Office said the investigation remains active and that it will release additional information as it becomes available.

It has not announced a cause of death.
