Schenectady brothers plead guilty in federal drug conspiracy

Two Schenectady brothers have pleaded guilty to a federal conspiracy involving methamphetamine and crack cocaine distributed in the Albany and Schenectady area.

Jalen Parker, 32, and Juwan Parker, 31, entered their pleas before U.S. District Judge Anne Nardacci, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of New York. Both admitted participating in a drug-trafficking organization operating in the two counties.

Jalen Parker admitted distributing more than 200 grams of actual methamphetamine and more than 325 grams of cocaine base from July 2024 through January 2026. Juwan Parker admitted selling more than 47 grams of crack cocaine on July 9, 2024, and 14 grams of methamphetamine that prosecutors described as 100% pure on May 27, 2025.

During a search of the brothers' Schenectady residence, investigators recovered two firearms, 30 grams of fentanyl and 300 grams of cocaine, the office said. The release did not say that either brother had pleaded guilty to a separate firearms or fentanyl charge, so the seized items should not be treated as an admission of trafficking in those substances.

The pleas resolve the conspiracy charge but do not end the case. Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 18. Prosecutors said Jalen Parker faces a mandatory minimum of 10 years and a maximum of life in prison; Juwan Parker faces a mandatory minimum of five years and a maximum of 40 years. Those ranges are statutory exposure, not a sentence already imposed.

The FBI and Schenectady Police Department investigated. Assistant U.S. Attorney Paul DerOhannesian is prosecuting the case. First Assistant U.S. Attorney John Sarcone said the guilty pleas reflect work by federal and local investigators, while Schenectady Police Chief Brian Whipple described the case as a partnership against drug trafficking. The court will determine each man's sentence at the December hearing.
