Gov. Kathy Hochul's reelection campaign said Monday that Planned Parenthood Empire State Votes has endorsed her, citing her record on reproductive rights and health care access in New York.
The statewide political action committee's chair, Robin Chappelle Golston, said in a Sept. 28 campaign release that Hochul has supported sexual and reproductive health care throughout her career.
“She understands what is at stake during relentless federal attacks and will hold the line to defend reproductive freedom and protect bodily autonomy for all New Yorkers,” Golston said in the release.
Hochul thanked the group and pointed to her administration's reproductive-health policies, including measures she described as making New York a safe haven for reproductive care. She also cited the state's paid prenatal leave program and an expansion of the child tax credit. Those policy claims are the governor's account in a campaign statement, not new actions announced with the endorsement.
The campaign release did not say whether the endorsement included funding or other election activity. It linked to a political-newsletter item rather than a direct announcement from the endorsing group.
