A federal grand jury has charged a Buffalo man with possessing ammunition despite felony convictions, intending to distribute cocaine and crack cocaine, and maintaining a drug-involved property.
Aden Ibrahim, 30, was named in a superseding indictment following a July 9, 2025, police response to a Woodette Place home, according to the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Western District of New York. The charges carry a maximum possible prison term of 20 years, prosecutors said.
Buffalo police were called about an unwanted guest. The person who reported the incident told officers that someone known as “Beano” refused to leave and had crack cocaine and a gun, according to a previously filed complaint described by prosecutors.
Officers later saw the man leave the home and try to run away. He carried a permanent resident card identifying him as Ibrahim, the office said.
Detectives reported seeing a revolver with tape on its handle on a bedroom floor. The complainant told them Ibrahim had been staying in that room and that its contents belonged to him.
After obtaining a search warrant, detectives seized the revolver, ammunition, about 26 grams of suspected crack cocaine base and drug paraphernalia, prosecutors said. The federal office said Ibrahim's felony convictions in March 2022 and January 2024 prohibit him from possessing ammunition.
Ibrahim was arraigned before U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael Romer and detained. Assistant U.S. Attorneys MacCaelin Sedita and Joshua Violanti are prosecuting the case, which was investigated by Buffalo police and Homeland Security Investigations.
