Geneva police reported four arrests between Sept. 14 and Sept. 22, including three cases involving suspected impaired driving and one petit larceny charge.
The department's Sept. 23 arrest blotter lists incidents on Main, Castle, Emily and East North streets. The charges and accounts below are from police; the blotter does not report case outcomes.
Jerry Robinson, 42, of Geneva, was arrested Sept. 14 after staff at Byrne Dairy complained that a 24-ounce can of Natural Ice beer valued at $1.95 had been stolen, police said. The incident was listed on Main Street. Robinson was charged with petit larceny, processed and issued an appearance ticket for Geneva City Criminal Court at a later date.
Nicky Phillips, 61, of Geneva, was arrested Sept. 18 after a traffic stop on Castle Street, according to the blotter. Police said Phillips drove through a parking lot to avoid a traffic control device and was determined to be impaired by drugs while operating a vehicle on a public road. Phillips was charged with drug-impaired driving and avoiding a traffic control device or intersection, then issued an appearance ticket for city criminal court.
Abbey Michaels, 62, of Geneva, was arrested Sept. 21 after a citizen reported erratic driving, police said. Officers located Michaels on Emily Street and determined that Michaels was driving while intoxicated, according to the blotter. Police said Michaels refused a breath test. Michaels was charged with driving while intoxicated, processed and taken to the centralized arraignment program.
Dante Shahan, 18, of Newark, was arrested Sept. 22 after a traffic stop on East North Street for driving without the vehicle's headlamps on, police said. Officers determined that Shahan was intoxicated by drugs while driving on a public road, according to the blotter. Shahan was charged with drug-impaired driving and inadequate or missing headlamps, processed and issued an appearance ticket for Geneva City Criminal Court at a later date.
