Child & Family Resources marks 50 years at new Geneva hub

Child & Family Resources will mark its 50th anniversary with an October 1 open house at its new Geneva hub, returning to a permanent location in the city after previously operating on Exchange Street.

The Finger Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce is co-hosting the celebration from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 821 Pre Emption Road, Suite 300. Community members and chamber members are invited, but attendees are asked to RSVP by Monday, September 28.

The new location has expanded offices, meeting space and rooms for supervised visitation, according to the chamber's announcement. The organization provides community programs, home-based family support and professional training for child care providers across the Finger Lakes.

Child & Family Resources has 33 employees and serves more than 1,500 parents, families and child care professionals each year, the chamber said. The announcement does not break down that total by program or county.

Beyond Geneva, the organization lists offices at 502 S. Main St. in Canandaigua and 60 Fall St. in Seneca Falls. It also lists two Penn Yan locations: 263 Lake St., Suite B, and the Yates Children's Center at 415 Liberty St.

The anniversary event will include an open house, refreshments, drawings and a chance to meet the organization's staff. A group photo is scheduled for noon, and the chamber has invited attendees to take part.

Those planning to attend can RSVP by calling the chamber at 315-789-1776 or emailing info@flxchamber.com by September 28.
