Investigators allege the UTV was traveling on a gravel turnaround just west of Sprongs Road when it made a sharp turn and flipped onto its side.

The operator, identified as Michael Harmer of Sprongs Bluff Road, suffered a gash to his head and was transported to the hospital, the sheriff’s office said.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.

The Sodus Fire Department and Silver Waters EMS assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene.
