Four people were charged after a traffic stop on Route 31 in Lyons led State Police to suspected crack cocaine and an automatic switchblade, according to troopers.
State Police said a vehicle driven by Bill E. Ridley, 41, was stopped around 9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, for vehicle and traffic violations. Ridley was charged with three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance involving suspected crack cocaine.
Ridley was released on appearance tickets and is scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court on Sept. 18.
Passenger Michael C. Mathys, 47, of Spencer Street in Lyons, was also charged with three counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. Troopers additionally charged Mathys with felony third-degree criminal possession of a weapon based on a prior conviction after they said he possessed an automatic switchblade.
Mathys was taken to the Wayne County Jail for centralized arraignment and later released. He was scheduled to appear in Lyons Town Court on Sept. 1.
Patricia L. Brown, 48, of the town of Savannah, was charged with four counts of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance involving suspected crack cocaine. Kayla M. Miller, 35, of Canal Street in Lyons, was charged with three counts of the same offense.
Both Brown and Miller were released on appearance tickets for Lyons Town Court on Sept. 18.
