Hobart soccer scored three second-half goals to rally past No. 18 Brandeis, 3-2, Friday night at Gordon Field.
The Statesmen improved to 2-0 on the season, while the Judges fell to 1-1.
Brandeis opened the scoring in the first half, but Hobart answered just over a minute into the second when Tommy Broderick headed home a corner kick from Griffin Coutts to make it 1-1.
The Judges regained the lead in the 52nd minute when Keller Chamovitz found the net, but Hobart responded again. Gabe Smith leveled the match in the 64th minute, finishing a volley off another Coutts corner.
Coutts then put Hobart ahead for good in the 82nd minute, curling a free kick from near the corner flag into the upper-left corner of the net. He finished with a goal and two assists.
Brandeis held a 15-12 advantage in shots, but Hobart put eight of its attempts on target compared to six for the Judges. The Statesmen also earned an 11-6 edge in corner kicks.
Goalkeeper Jake Hans made a career-high six saves to help preserve the victory.
Hobart will return to action Sunday, September 6, at noon against Roger Williams in Bristol, Rhode Island.
