Federal disaster assistance is available to Colorado for recovery from wildfires, flooding and mudslides that struck the state from June 27 through July 29, FEMA announced.
The declaration makes federal Public Assistance funding available on a cost-sharing basis for emergency work and the repair or replacement of damaged facilities in Custer, Dolores, Ouray and Pueblo counties.
Eligible applicants include the state, tribal and local governments and certain private nonprofit organizations, according to FEMA.
Katherine B. Fox was named federal coordinating officer for the recovery operation.
FEMA said additional areas could be designated later if Colorado requests assistance and further assessments support the request.
