Dryden developers seek zoning exception to add 10 rental units

A longtime Dryden property owner is seeking approval to add five duplex buildings to a rural rental property on Ringwood Road, according to The Ithaca Voice.

The proposal would expand Hillside Apartments from 19 units in 13 structures to 29 units in 18 structures on the 47-acre property.

Because the property is located in a conservation district, the expansion would require approval as a Planned Unit Development, allowing site-specific zoning.

Planning Board members expressed no major objections during an Aug. 27 discussion, though wells and septic systems would require health department review.

The proposal is expected to go before the Dryden Town Board next, potentially beginning a longer review process that would include additional Planning Board consideration and a public hearing.
