A federal judge has temporarily blocked a new U.S. Postal Service rule affecting mail-in voting after granting a request from New York Attorney General Letitia James.
James said the rule could disrupt the midterm elections and argued that the Postal Service does not have authority to determine who may vote by mail.
The temporary restraining order pauses the rule while the legal challenge proceeds. James said her office would continue fighting to prevent the policy from interfering with elections.
