Deputies said the SUV, driven by Daniel Felipe, 42, of Brooklyn, was traveling south on Auburn Road and turned east onto Locke Road into Lonsky’s path.

Lonsky was pronounced dead at the scene.

Felipe was not injured. He was issued a traffic ticket for failing to yield the right of way.

The crash shut down a portion of Auburn Road for several hours while law enforcement investigated the scene. The road reopened shortly before 10 p.m.

The crash remains under investigation.
