The 2026 Great New York State Fair opened Wednesday in Syracuse with a new 10,500-square-foot building dedicated to FFA students and agricultural education.
Gov. Kathy Hochul cut the ribbon on the facility as the 13-day fair began. The event runs through Labor Day, Sept. 7.
The FFA building includes exhibition and conference space where students can showcase projects and introduce visitors to agricultural careers.
It is part of a $34.7 million upgrade to agricultural facilities at the fairgrounds. State officials said $119 million has been committed to improvements there since 2021.
Other additions include new agricultural exhibits and food offerings. The state has also planned stage, Expo Center and Milk Bar upgrades, with the Milk Bar renovation expected to be finished for the 2027 fair.
