Drivers in downtown Canandaigua should expect evening road work and parking restrictions next week as the state begins a mill-and-fill project on Main Street.
The New York State Department of Transportation is scheduled to begin northbound work at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 24, starting from Routes 5 and 20 and continuing up Main Street through downtown.
Southbound work is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, along Main Street through the downtown area.
All parking spaces along Main Street downtown must be cleared by 5 p.m. on both Monday and Tuesday.
City officials said parking will remain available behind Main Street and encouraged drivers to use alternate routes around downtown while the work is underway.
