Patsy's Pizzeria will open its first Finger Lakes location Aug. 27 inside the Ithaca Marriott Downtown on the Commons, marking the Harlem restaurant's first location outside New York City.
The restaurant at 120 S. Aurora St. will serve the New York-style pizza associated with the business since Pasquale "Patsy" Lancieri and his wife, Carmella, opened the original location in 1933. A ribbon-cutting is scheduled for 5 p.m. on opening day, followed by a media dinner at 6 p.m.
The Ithaca location is a partnership between Patsy's and Promise Hospitality, led by founder and CEO Premtim Gjonbalic. Frank Brija, whose family took over the Harlem restaurant in 1991, said the new location will carry forward the restaurant's traditions while expanding into the Finger Lakes.
The menu will include classic New York, Margherita, vodka, sausage and peppers, pepperoni and meatball pizzas, along with Spicy 'Nduja and White Truffle pies. Other dishes include mozzarella-stuffed suppli, paccheri cacciatore, steak pizzaiola, linguine vongole and whole butterflied branzino.
The restaurant also plans to serve daily brunch, with antipasti, salads, griddle dishes, pasta and sandwiches. Dessert options will include Neapolitan rum cake, almond tortoni, affogato, tiramisu and zeppole.
The beverage menu will feature wines, cocktails and Italian sodas from Baladin, according to the announcement.
