The boil-water order for parts of the Border City Water District in the town of Waterloo was lifted Friday after testing found no harmful microbes or bacteria in the distribution system.
The Seneca County Health Department said the order had covered Cayuga Street, Seneca Boulevard, Wagner Street, Owasco Drive, 319 to 379 Waterloo Geneva Road, also known as Penny Lane, and 311 to 353 Border City Road.
Residents and businesses in the affected area may resume using tap water without boiling it, according to the Aug. 7 notice.
The Health Department asked recipients to share the update with others who drink the water and may not have received the notice directly, including people in apartments, nursing homes, schools and businesses.
Questions may be directed to Nathan Burgdorf of the town of Waterloo at 315-719-4395 or the Seneca County Health Department at 315-539-1945.
